The story of the company and its unique products begins in the 1960s when Evangelos Menediatis, a tile craftsman by profession and an inquisitive mind, was always looking for ways to improve the quality of his work.
As an experienced professional, he was concerned about the adhesion level and performance of the mortar he used for tile laying, as it did not meet his requirements. For this reason, he persistently experimented to discover another material that would offer better technical specifications.
After several experiments and using adhesive as the base for his new material, he created a new product with high technical specifications, which he began to distribute and promote across the wider market throughout Greece.

Evangelos Menediatis thus took his first steps, but demand and sales quickly increased. To meet the growing needs, he took the next step by organizing the business and distributing products with his own trucks.
The product’s journey in the domestic market was undoubtedly successful, leading to the establishment of the company “Meloplast” in 1973 with the support of his family. This marked the beginning of a new creative path that would lead to the founding of Plastikoll in September 1983 by the founder’s son, George Menediatis.

Having delved into the trade alongside his father, learning firsthand the secrets and techniques of the business, he proceeded to create new, innovative, and higher-quality products which he then introduced to the market.
The “Armostoc” ceramic tile grout was one of them: an excellent product, particularly useful to craftsmen, which only a tile craftsman could have created. This was followed by a series of equally new, excellent quality, and high-specification products such as Magnetic Adhesive for tarpaulins, Plastic Raw Material, the wide range of PVA adhesives (Crystallized, Parquet Adhesive, General Purpose Adhesive, etc.), Lime Substitute, and Tile Spacers.
The next products that completed the range were Acrylic Paints, Extra Adhesive (another innovation, the first paste adhesive), and Liquid Resins.
In 2001, Roumen was founded as a natural continuation of these developmental steps, with the third generation of the Menediatis family, the founder’s grandchildren, now taking an active role in the business.
Dedication to quality and continuous research are the elements that have given the company its long-standing trajectory for years now.
With these elements as our core principles, we will continue into the future, faithfully adhering to and serving them.
